Gilded bronze Monument of Johann Strauss II in Stadtpark, Vienna. Austria
Stadtpark Vienna, or also the Viennese City Park, was the first public park in Vienna, which opened in the second half of the 19th century (1862). The style of the painter Joseph Selleny had an influence on the English-like Stadtpark gardens, which were planned by the gardener of Vienna - Rudolf Siebeck. For sight-seers this would prove a unique spot, because there are many other sculpture works and monuments in the park that can be appreciated. Just some of them are Johann Strauss II’s gilded monument, as well as the ones of the Austrian composer Franz Schubert, the painter Hans Makart and the songwriter and composer Robert Stolz.
